About us:

We are a small, successful IT consultancy based in central London looking for a strong, senior IT Engineer to complement a diverse and experienced team of support engineers. Nittygritty.net specialise in IT support and consultancy to companies in the architectural and creative sectors, and so offer the opportunity to work at a variety of clients with a wide range of challenging technical needs.

About you:

You will have previous experience of infrastructure management as a senior engineer/technical lead within an organisation, or have experience managing the IT estate for a smaller organisation. You must have at least 5 years’ experience as a senior IT analyst. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who brings good technical skills, as well as the ability to take ownership of IT projects, plan them and run the team implementing them.

Workload is balanced between the regular and ongoing management of technical services for multiple clients, and ad hoc project management, to facilitate technology transformation and modernisation.

Your role means you will become the key point of contact for multiple clients, covering key responsibilities which include:

  • Administration and engineering of the Windows server estate (Physical & Virtual)
  • Storage/SAN administration and management
  • Network management: LAN/WAN/VLANs/VPN/WiFi
  • Microsoft 365 Tenant Administration
  • Security systems: Anti-Virus, Firewalls
  • Backup monitoring and testing
  • Patch & Firmware management
  • Advising/Consulting internal IT teams
  • Project Management

You need to be/have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a relevant infrastructure, network operations or engineering role
  • Strong Windows Server experience and ability to provide 3rd line support
  • Hyper-V virtualisation, configuration and management experience (including clustering)
  • Microsoft 365 Tenant Administration including Exchange Online, Teams & SharePoint
  • Dell EMC Hardware: PowerEdge Servers, PowerVault SAN/DAS, Power Connect Switches
  • The ability to communicate technical issues, clearly, to non-technical people
  • Self-motivated and self-managed
